Phosphorus in the Baltic Sea – measured since decades, but really unterstood?

PhosWaM | Publikation | Bach, Fluss, Übergangsgewässer/Ästuar

Vorschau

On the first glance, the phosphorus (P) cycle seems to be relatively simple compared to the cycles of nitrogen or carbon. It comprises dissolved inorganic phosphors (DIP or PO), dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) and the particulate inorganic and organic fractions (PIP and POP) which however interact with each other in numerous ways. DOP and the particulate fractions are quite heterogeneous in composition.
